Due to the growing demand for mental health services, long NHS waits and increasing pressure we are under in life, The Metanoia Centre was created as a space that combines scientifically proven therapies and holistic approaches to deliver the best care for your mental health and well-being.
Metanoia is a word with Greek origins that means “the changing of one’s mind, self or way of life” which is our mission statement here at the Centre. We transform lives, supporting you while you become the best version of yourself.
“How long are you going to wait before you demand the best for yourself?”
My Approach
During the initial consultation, we will discuss the best way forward for you and what service you feel comfortable with. My standardized sessions include elements of Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) through solution-focused hypnotherapy (SFH). The three components are extremely powerful used together, they encourage you to be aware of your thoughts and behaviours and allow you to use the subconscious mind to re-programme your thoughts, habits and behaviours.
We have spent years as humans being programmed, and programming ourselves, associating certain things with danger and overusing negative language which is then engraved in our being. It is time to undo the damage and let go of what no longer serves us.
NLP
NLP identifies your biases, and identifies links between your neuro processing, language and behaviour patterns. With this insight to yourself, you can then begin the re-programming journey and form new patterns of behaviour.
CBT
CBT allows you to understand the links between a situation, your thoughts and how you then physically respond. identifying this pattern is a helpful tool to understand that what has been happening is just a cycle that can be broken and adjusted.
SFH
Psychotherapy & goal setting, followed by 25 mins of relaxation. During relaxation i use binaural beats to induce theta activity in the brain. This theta activity allows your subconscious mind to be more susceptible to the suggestions whilst you are in a relaxed state.
